It usually begins with what Dr. Dan calls “mind chatter”.
Another name for mind chatter is racing thoughts. When we are anxious our mind tends to race and wander. Instead of dealing with reality and the here and now we allow our thoughts to run off into the “what ifs”. Dr. Gottlieb says the first step to conquering self doubt is to change your relationship with mind chatter. Distinguish between a racing mind and reality. Focus on what is happening in the moment.
