Things That Can Trigger Depression


People experience depression differently. For many, depression can sometimes be triggered by an event, a time of year or a reminder of a past trauma.   Feeling depressed is only one symptom of depression. Some symptoms may include insomnia, insecurity, irritability or feeling withdrawn. Contributor & Psychologist, Dr. Dan Gottlieb explains that depression is a brain disorder. Although there are medications that can help with depression, the first line of defense would be to find a good therapist.

Dr. Dan suffers from depression. He shares his story of how he personally deals with depression in hopes of helping others who have experienced depression.

Dr. Dan Gottlieb has been practicing psychology since 1969.Since 1985, Daniel Gottlieb has been hosting “Voices in the Family,” an award-winning mental health call-in radio show aired on WHYY 90.9 FM, Philadelphia’s local public radio station.
